The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham is an outpatient wound center in the Rosemary Office Park, less than a mile from the hospital. Planning your visit
The first appointment includes a review of health and medical history and a wound evaluation, which may include tests of blood flow, of how well oxygen reaches the affected area and for infection. Patients are asked to bring a list of allergies, a list of medications, insurance information and their medical history. The team evaluates each wound to decide whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy is appropriate and, if it is, develops a treatment plan for that wound. The care team may also involve diabetes educators, home care nurses, imaging specialists, nutrition specialists, physical and occupational therapists and the patient's primary care provider or referring physician. The center is at 145 Rosemary Street in the Rosemary Office Park, behind the Needham Public Library, near the MBTA commuter rail and accessible from Route 128.
