Planning your visit
Appointments are made by phone; staff ask a few questions so the first visit is scheduled with the most appropriate wound care practitioner. Arrive 15 minutes early for the first appointment, which typically lasts 90 minutes. Bring photo identification, insurance information, a list of allergies and a list of medications that includes prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, herbal products and vitamins, plus a referral if one is required. The care team works with the patient's primary care provider or specialist on an individualized care plan and keeps that doctor updated on progress. Care may also involve consultation with other professionals, such as infectious disease physicians, plastic surgeons, diabetic educators, visiting nurses, orthotic specialists, and weight management and nutrition services. Patients continue to see their primary care provider for any routine medical care. Metered parking is available in the municipal lot just beyond the building, and there is a patient drop-off at the front entrance on Riverside Avenue.
