Planning your visit
Start with a consultation: the hyperbaric physician reviews your history, performs a physical examination and may order tests. A technologist explains the session, scheduling and safety precautions. Approved garments are provided; personal items require staff approval, and petroleum-based or aerosol skin and hair products are not allowed in the chamber. Sessions generally last 60–90 minutes. A certified technologist stays beside the chamber throughout treatment and you can communicate at all times. Meet with your provider afterward to discuss the session and any concerns.
