Planning your visit
Appointments are scheduled through Baptist Health's central wound care appointment line. Physicians referring a patient use the center's referral form, which must include the patient's demographics and insurance information and recent clinical notes about the wound, plus a copy of the insurance card if available; the form also asks whether prior authorization was obtained. Treatment is outpatient: in each session the patient breathes pure oxygen inside an enclosed, pressurized chamber, and chronic wounds may take several sessions. Patients are asked to bring their insurance card to the appointment. Patients may receive one bill from Baptist Health for facility services and a separate bill from Emergency Resources Group or another provider group for physician services.
