About

Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine - Baptist Jacksonville is the Prudential Drive location of Baptist Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, a five-location Baptist Health program for chronic and non-healing wounds. Its location page lists wound evaluation, cultures, debridement and biopsies, negative pressure wound therapy, compression therapy, non-invasive vascular studies, specialty dressings, bio-engineered skin grafts and substitutes, antibiotic therapy, treatment of skin and bone infections and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Planning your visit

Wound care includes consultation and evaluation, diagnostic and ongoing assessments, and treatment. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is an outpatient service in which the patient breathes 100 percent oxygen inside an enclosed, pressurized chamber for a set length of time, and chronic or non-healing wounds may need multiple sessions. Baptist describes the therapy as an addition to other treatments, not a replacement for them. Appointments are requested through the program's central wound care appointment line. Referring physicians use the program's patient referral form, which asks whether prior authorization was obtained and must include patient demographics and insurance information, recent clinical notes about the wound, and a copy of the insurance card if available. Baptist says visits at its wound care centers may generate separate bills for the facility and for physician or provider services.
