A referral is not always required; the clinic asks patients to call so staff can determine requirements and verify insurance.

Treatment begins with safety screening and education. Patients lie in a clear, pressurized chamber while breathing 100% oxygen, and a trained clinician monitors each session; patients can rest, listen to music or watch TV. Typical sessions last 90–120 minutes, and the number of sessions depends on the diagnosis and response to care; the clinic says many plans run from several weeks to a few months with regular re-evaluation. Patients are asked to bring an updated medication list and allergy information and to wear cotton clothing without skin lotions, perfumes or petroleum products on treatment days. An untreated pneumothorax is a contraindication, and patients are screened for it before starting. Staff teach patients how to equalize ear pressure during the session, and patients are asked to follow the eating and hydration instructions their care team gives and to report recent changes in health, medications or mobility. The clinic says most patients can resume normal activities after a session unless the clinician advises otherwise.
