Planning your visit
An HBOT prescription and consultation are required before treatment. The referring provider may supply the prescription and clearance, or RX-O2 clinicians can evaluate the patient and write the prescription.
Wear clean, comfortable cotton clothing and bring your medication list. Eat a normal light meal unless your treating provider instructs otherwise, and use the restroom before entering the chamber. Call before visiting if you develop fever, congestion or new ear or sinus symptoms. Keep electronics outside the chamber and avoid lotions, oils and makeup according to the clinic’s instructions. Tell staff beforehand about medical devices or special dressings. Staff review personal items, teach ear-pressure equalization and monitor you throughout treatment; report pain or anxiety so pressure changes can slow or pause. Sessions are commonly 60 or 90 minutes, with extra time for check-in, preparation and pressure changes. Tell the team about mobility or caregiver needs before visiting. If traveling for treatment, confirm the appointment schedule before booking lodging; the clinic can discuss nearby hotel arrangements.
