About

Aurora Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Care is a hospital-based department of Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. Aurora's hyperbaric program began at St. Luke's in 1969 and is now led by Dr. Laurie Gesell; the department runs a multiplace chamber that can treat up to 25 patients in one session. The program lists conditions including diabetic foot ulcers, radiation injury, osteomyelitis and compromised flaps and grafts, and its wound services include debridement, negative pressure wound therapy and infectious disease care. Planning your visit

Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care are on the lower level of the Knisely South building at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. The hospital offers free covered parking in its attached parking structure. Everyone entering through the Main Entrance goes through an enhanced check-in process, and the hospital asks patients to arrive early for appointments. Aurora says most hyperbaric oxygen therapy is given on an outpatient basis, and patients can watch a movie, listen to music or rest during a session while the care team monitors them.
