Planning your visit
The first wound-care visit includes a specialist consultation, assessment of underlying causes, wound measurements and a digital photograph, followed by a personalized care plan. The team teaches home wound care and can coordinate with your home health agency; telemedicine may be used when appropriate. For an ostomy appointment, arrive 20 minutes early and bring a photo ID, insurance card and current pouching system. Give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel that appointment. Scheduling is through the wound center’s appointment line.
