Planning your visit
Arrive 15–20 minutes before treatment. Avoid carbonated or caffeinated beverages for at least an hour beforehand, and do not apply makeup, skin lotion, hair spray or petroleum-based products. Remove jewelry and battery-operated devices; the center provides cotton clothing. Most treatments last about 90 minutes, with heart monitoring, ear-pressure guidance and continuous contact with the chamber operator; television is available. Staff assess you again afterward. Patients needing mobility assistance can park in the President Street Garage at 91 President Street and ask the booth attendant for golf-cart transport to the Wound Care Center in the Clinical Sciences Building.
