A full medical review with a physician is required before the first HBOT session.

Intake forms (intake form, acknowledgement, waiver, health questionnaire, cancellation policy and release forms) can be completed before or upon arrival for the first session. The physician review covers medical history, the ears' ability to equalize and the lungs; chest X-rays, pulmonary function tests or an eye examination may be requested. The treating physician decides whether a patient uses the monoplace chamber, where patients lie down and can listen to music, talk with staff or nap, or the multiplace chamber, where each patient breathes oxygen through a fitted hood while a nurse or EMT inside monitors them. Patients are generally treated once a day, some twice a day, on weekdays excluding major holidays. The clinic says most courses run 20 to 40 treatments of up to 2 hours each; diabetic wound sessions typically last 90 to 120 minutes and brain injury sessions about one hour. Cotton scrubs are provided; patients wear 100% cotton undergarments and leave hair products, makeup, perfume, jewelry, hearing aids, phones and other items on the clinic's prohibited list outside the chamber. The clinic asks patients to avoid smoking and tobacco smoke for one to two hours before arriving. Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours ahead to avoid a cancellation fee, and the intake form states that services are paid in advance. NeurOptimal neurofeedback, offered as an adjunct therapy, is done with ear clips and two small sensors on the head while the patient relaxes and listens to music; the clinic says each session lasts roughly 33 minutes and recommends one session a day.
