Planning your visit

Patients are asked to complete, print and bring the relevant patient forms, including the HBOT consent form, before their visit. Booking requires a valid credit card on file, and the clinic asks for 48 hours' notice of cancellation. According to the HBOT consent form, a course may involve at least 20 sessions depending on the condition, with no more than two one-hour sessions a day spaced at least four hours apart. In the chamber patients wear cotton clothing or scrubs supplied by the clinic; shoes, jewelry, rings and clothing with metal, zippers or buttons are not allowed, and the clinic provides socks. Phones, computers, lighters and other flammable items are not allowed in or near the chamber, and no food or drink other than water may be taken inside. The form asks patients not to use perfume, oils, hairspray or makeup before a session. Patients with a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator need a clearance letter from their cardiologist, and patients with diabetes have their blood glucose checked before treatment. The form also asks patients to avoid flying or traveling to high altitudes for 48 hours after treatment.
