Center for Wound Healing
Care areas
About
The Center for Wound Healing is Arnot Health's outpatient wound care program, housed in an independent outpatient facility on the Arnot Ogden Medical Center campus in Elmira. Its team works with other specialty areas of the medical center on each patient's care. Trained specialists deliver hyperbaric oxygen therapy with 100 percent oxygen in a transparent chamber, and Arnot Health states that its hyperbaric department is accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. Listed uses include diabetic foot ulcers, osteomyelitis, radiation injury and surgical flaps at risk for tissue loss. Arnot Health's provider directory lists Justin Nistico, DO, a physician whose specialties include hyperbaric medicine, wound care and infectious disease, at its wound care office on Ivy Street.

Planning your visit
The Center for Wound Healing treats wounds only, so patients continue to see their primary care physician for other routine medical needs. Referring physicians can call the center for updates on a patient, and if further testing or a specialist outside the wound care team is needed, the center contacts the primary physician's office. Wound treatment is individualized to the type and severity of the wound. During hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the transparent chamber, patients can relax, listen to music or watch television.
