Onslow Memorial Hospital’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center is an outpatient clinic next to the hospital in Jacksonville. It combines wound assessment, dressings, debridement and other wound treatments with physician-prescribed HBOT when appropriate.

Planning your visit
Your first visit includes a provider-led wound assessment, medical-history review and, when needed, circulation or infection tests. A gown is provided for HBOT. Leave cosmetics, perfume, hair products, deodorant, wigs, jewelry and electronics outside the chamber, and tell the technician about all medications and medical devices. The clinic advises avoiding alcohol and carbonated drinks for four hours before treatment. Sessions take about two hours, usually daily for several weeks as prescribed; you can rest, watch television or listen to music. Technicians teach ear-pressure equalization, and the center sends progress reports to your referring provider.
