Planning your visit
Begin with a telephone interview arranged through the patient-care coordinator. Beforehand, send available brain scans, discharge summaries and a patient or family history summary for review. The intake assessment takes 90 minutes to two hours. For many chronic conditions, the clinic asks patients to plan for approximately two months in the New Orleans area. Wear clean cotton clothing and leave cosmetics, perfume and jewelry out of the chamber; tell the technician about all medications, including non-prescription products. Staff monitor you continuously through an intercom; you can rest or watch television. Accessible parking, an elevator, accessible bathrooms and a Hoyer lift are available.
