Planning your visit
Sessions last about two hours; when more than one is needed, treatment is usually daily Monday–Friday. An HBOT nurse monitors and assists you throughout the session, including help with ear-pressure equalization. The program provides an all-cotton garment. Remove jewelry and avoid makeup, hair spray, nail polish, lotions, deodorant and fragrances before treatment. Battery-powered devices, lighters and matches are not allowed in the chamber. You may eat a regular meal beforehand. For patients with diabetes, staff check blood sugar before and after each session. Tobacco users should discuss the program’s smoking eligibility requirements before scheduling.
