About

AZ Wound & Hyperbaric Medicine's Mesa (Dobson) office is a wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy clinic in the Banner Desert Medical Plaza at Dobson and Baseline. The privately owned practice is a division of Arizona Advanced Surgery and is led by Dr. Yadwinder (Vinnie) Dhillon. It lists venous and diabetic ulcers, burns, skin grafts, autoimmune-related wounds, carbon monoxide poisoning, severe anemia and central retinal artery occlusion among the conditions it treats. Planning your visit

Practice-wide patient policy: no physician referral is required for an appointment. HBOT suitability is assessed by the clinical team.

After an appointment is booked, the clinic sends a secure link by text or email to complete intake forms through its patient portal; printed forms are also available. The first visit lasts about one hour and covers medical and surgical history, current medications and prior wound treatments, so patients are asked to bring a complete medication list with dosages. HBOT is generally given once a day, with about 90 minutes in the chamber. The clinic says most HBOT programs run Monday through Friday for six weeks, with each session lasting about 2.5 hours; the provider sets the number of treatments, their length and the pressure. Patients change into 100% cotton scrubs or a gown supplied by the clinic. Hair products, wigs, non-cotton undergarments, make-up, perfume, jewelry, hearing aids, mobile phones and other combustible items are not allowed in the chamber, and implanted devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators should be reported to the provider. Before each session a nurse or respiratory technician checks the ears, blood pressure and, for diabetic patients, blood sugar. The clinic asks patients to avoid alcohol, carbonated beverages and tobacco during the treatment course and requests 24 hours' notice for cancellations.
