Providers may prescribe HBOT for non-healing diabetic skin conditions or sores; the hyperbaric oxygen chamber is at the wound care clinic on the Avera McKennan campus. During a session the patient is pressurized inside the chamber and breathes 100% oxygen. The clinic is on the Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center campus near 21st Street and Cliff Avenue, and Avera advises allowing extra travel time because of on-campus construction and some road and parking lot closures. Patients with limited mobility can use the surface parking lot next to Plaza 1 or the valet service at the entrance. Additional free parking is in the ramps reached from 20th Street; from street level, outdoor sidewalks lead south to Plaza 1 (the 10th Avenue sidewalk east of the construction site).
