Wound Care Center – Greece is a Rochester Regional Health wound care center on the Ridgeway Medical Campus, also called the Wound Care Center at Unity Ridgeway. Planning your visit
Patients or their physicians call for the first appointment, where physicians and nurses evaluate the wound and medical history before a treatment program is developed.
Patients are asked to bring all current medications, including over-the-counter medicines, a list of allergies and insurance information to the first visit. The first evaluation can include X-rays if the patient has them, and tests may check blood flow, tissue oxygenation and signs of infection. Patients learn to care for the wound at home and how to protect against further injuries, and staff are available to answer questions. Nothing may be taken into the hyperbaric chambers at Ridgeway, including books and newspapers; each chamber is equipped with a television so patients can watch TV or a movie during treatment.
