Planning your visit

Every patient is evaluated by the clinic's medical team before treatment begins.

At the initial consultation, patients provide a complete list of medications, supplements and vitamins, and they are asked to report any changes during treatment. HBOT is offered both before and after surgery; post-surgical sessions begin once the surgeon gives clearance, often within 24–48 hours of the procedure. The clinic says neurological sessions typically last 60–90 minutes. Most patients complete 30 to 40 sessions, usually scheduled four to five times per week, though the number depends on the condition and the response to treatment. The clinic supplies 100% cotton scrubs and cotton sheets and blankets, and technicians inspect and approve all garments and items before each session. Items not allowed in the chamber include deodorant, lotion, perfume, hair products, makeup, nail polish applied less than 48 hours before treatment, jewelry, hair clips, hearing aids, dentures, hard contact lenses and clothing with metal, buttons, zippers, snaps or Velcro. Patients are asked to avoid large meals and carbonated drinks right before a session, avoid alcohol for at least 8 hours beforehand and not smoke during the treatment course. Ear fullness during pressurization usually lasts 10 to 15 minutes, with technicians guiding equalization, and patients can watch TV or movies, listen to music or nap during the session.
