A physician evaluation is required before treatment; the clinic can do the evaluation on site or work with the patient's own doctor.

Treatment starts with an evaluation in which the clinic's physician reviews the patient's history and records to confirm that HBOT is appropriate and safe, and staff check the patient's insurance. During a session the patient lies in the chamber breathing pure oxygen; the clinic says a typical treatment lasts about 90 minutes at pressure. Patients may feel fullness in the ears as the chamber pressurizes and can watch TV, rest or talk with the technician during treatment. Most conditions need a series of sessions, and the physician sets the number and tracks progress. The clinic provides a cotton gown, and lotions, makeup, hair products and electronics are not allowed inside the chamber. Certain lung conditions and medications need special review by the physician. Referring physicians can fax the referral, recent notes and wound documentation to the clinic. The clinic describes its office as wheelchair accessible and reachable by public transit.
