Baptist's wound care program lists wound consultation and evaluation, diagnostic testing and ongoing assessments as part of care, and says a treatment plan may also include pain management, physical therapy, diabetes education, treatment of infection, home health care, debridement and vascular studies of blood flow to the wound; the program also lists pressure off-loading devices and footwear. Its hyperbaric and wound care specialists work with infectious disease, vascular, general, plastic reconstructive and orthopedic surgeons and with podiatrists. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is offered on an outpatient basis: the patient spends a set length of time inside an enclosed chamber breathing 100 percent oxygen at higher than normal atmospheric pressure, and Baptist notes that chronic conditions and non-healing wounds may need several sessions. Baptist lists a central wound care appointment line for scheduling and links a physician referral form for doctors who refer patients. Patients may receive more than one bill for a visit: Baptist Health bills for facility services, and Emergency Resources Group (ERG) or another provider group may bill separately for physician or provider services.
