Planning your visit
Patients are invited to schedule a consultation with Dr. Jonathan Gelber to discuss their goals, health history and whether HBOT fits their orthopedic treatment or recovery plan. Ear or sinus problems, lung conditions, medications and other health factors may affect whether HBOT is appropriate, and the clinic says a screening discussion is important before treatment. A typical session lasts about one hour: the patient rests in the chamber while it is gradually pressurized, and staff explain how to equalize ear pressure. Television is available during sessions. The recommended schedule depends on why HBOT is being considered.
